Pamela Moseley Carpenter Children's Foundation

Welcome to the Pamela Moseley Carpenter Children's Foundation website!

The Pamela Moseley Carpenter Children’s Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, provides low-income, at-risk children and adults positive alternatives to violence and unhealthy lifestyle choices. We offer financial assistance for counseling services, educational programs and pure movement sports activities to teach self-discipline, healthy lifestyle choices, positive conflict resolution, self-responsibility, and self-esteem. Our programs also create community awareness and enhance crime-prevention.  The goal is to introduce and encourage lifelong fitness, leadership, responsibility and health awareness.

In addition, PMC presents a scholarship to a graduating senior at Livingston High School in memory of Ms. Carpenter and to a senior at Big Sandy High School in memory of Katie Moseley who was killed last year by a drunk driver.  The PMC Foundation also provides counseling services and education to children of low-income families, and children who have been affected by violent crimes.  The PMC Foundation is supported solely on the donations of public and private organizations and individuals.  The PMC Board of Directors is a completely volunteer board which helps keep all the funds raised for any fundraisers going back out into the community kids.

Who is Pamela Moseley Carpenter?

Pamela Moseley Carpenter was a resident of Polk County until she was violently murdered by John Paul Penry in 1979 at the age of 22.  Her murder gained national awareness because of its effects on the mental retardation laws and the death penalty.  She was the sister of Former Washington Redskins kicker and the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, Mark Moseley of Virginia, and Local Business Man Danny Moseley and high roller probate, Tim Moseley both of Livingston.  Pam was a dancer and believed strongly in the benefit of sport in the lives of children.  The Pamela Moseley Carpenter Foundation was established in her name as a memorial for her outstanding work with children through church and community activities.

Providing children and adults positive alternatives to at risk behaviors through healthy lifestyle choices.
